Elinore "Ellie" J. Giles, 84 of Heath passed away on May 20, 2024 at Middleton Assisted Living in Granville. She was born on August 5, 1939 in Newark, OH to the late Greer and Dorothy C. (Frischen) Long.

Ellie retired from Owens Corning after 38 years and Hallmark after 12 years. After retirement she volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Heath. She loved to read.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Kent Giles, Jr.; daughter, Lori (Billy Milan) Giles; grandchildren, Dustin, Joshua and Megan; brother, Richard Long; sister, Carol Pheneger; special friends, Irmgard Rhodes and Tina Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kent Giles, Sr.; sisters, Nancy (Bob) Hall, Patricia Long and Alice Joyce (Everett) Wright; sister-in-law, Gloria Long; brother-in-law, Jack Pheneger; and beloved dog, Sami.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Newark Memorial Gardens, 4244 Marion Rd., Newark with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating.
