Elizabeth "Betty" Anna McCrory

A memorial service for Elizabeth "Betty" Anna McCrory, 81, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Schwind officiating. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Betty passed away March 2, 2024, at Courtyard of Newark surrounded by love.  She was born March 29, 1942, in Pawhuska, OK, to the late Joseph Robert and Mary Margaret (McCool) Flynn.

Betty received a double master's degree in psychology and speech and hearing sciences from The Ohio State University.  She worked at LICCO as a speech and hearing pathologist. She was a sign language interpreter at her church. She enjoyed decorating cakes, loved flowers, collecting and watching birds, and vacations to the beach.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Kay (Phillip) Whitlow and Sally Anne Porter; brother, Robert (Susan) Flynn; grandchildren, Mary (James) Davis, Dustin (Ashley Kraus) Whitlow, Heidi (Marc) Hull, and Joshua (Erin) Miller; great-grandchildren, Maya, Jade, and Sapphire Davis, Nora and Henry Miller, Alayna, Gabrielle and Alivia, and Oliver Whitlow; many nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren, Angela (Joel) Theller and Judd (Jennifer) Porter, Jr., and step-greatgrandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse or Hospice of Central Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Glen McCrory, sister, Donna Jo Flynn Murphy Davi; son-in-law, Judd E. Porter, Sr.; stepmother, Elaine Flynn, and first son-in-law, Carey Miller.
