Elma E. Love, 92 of Newark passed away on May 31, 2026 at Altercare Newark North. She was born on March 11, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, OH to the late Charles and Jenny May (Myers) Sharp.

Elma retired from Resinoid Engineering after many years. She enjoyed sitting on the porch watching hummingbirds and wildlife. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and listening to gospel music.

She is survived by her children, Robert Lee (Patricia) Love, Jr., Lori (Steve) Hicks and Kevin Love; grandchildren, Bobby Love and Rachel (Quinn) Nugent; several great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Sharp; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Love, Sr.; grandchildren, Lisa K. Hicks Daugherty and Robyn Hicks; siblings, Jesse Sharp, John Sharp, Roy Sharp, Thelma Bricker, Bessie Petry, Charles Sharp, Jr. and Ada Mae Sharp; and her beloved dog, Frank.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.
