Obituary

Estella (Meek) Fyffe, age 95, of Newark, passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center Friday, August 7, 2026. She was born in Paintsville, KY on April 27, 1931, to the late Elias and Mary (Stanford) Meek.

Estella was the best mom ever; she loved the Lord, her family, her church, her church family, and all of her babies.

She is survived by her children, Marlene (Michael) Hupp, Charlene Skeels, Carolyn Young, and Lawrence Fyffe, Jr.; Grandchildren, Lee (Tina) Steele, Donnie (Cindi) Greene, Jamie (Alicia) Fyffe, Steven (Rachel) Fyffe, Angela (Seth) Moore, and Lacy (Wouter) de Jong; Great-grandchildren, DJ (Emily) Greene, Ava Moore, Myla Moore, Stella Moore, Liam Greene, Francesca Greene, Judah Moore, Samantha (Blake) Wright, Damian Steele, Devin Steele, Michael Steele, Garren Fyffe, Brandon Fyffe, Elden Fyffe, Britton Fyffe, Logan Fyffe, Linken Fyffe, and Eden Fyffe; Great-great grandchildren Lochlan Greene, Beckett Wright, Finn Fyffe, Macy Fyffe, and Sophia Fyffe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Fyffe, Sr.; brothers, Clyde Meek, Margie Stanford, Daniel Meek, Daisy Pike, Elias Meek Jr., Henry Meek, Grover Meek, and Hobert Meek; grandson and granddaughter Mitchell and Alaina Steele.

To her family and to everyone who loved her, she was known as “Momma”. Everywhere she went, she made an impression. Everything about her was pure elegance. From her hair to her shoes. People would stop her just to tell her how lovely she was. But the most notable thing about her, was her unwavering faith in Jesus. Her first love. It is because of her that her family walks in the knowledge of the truth that Jesus died for our sins and gave us a way out of sin. She taught her family how to pray, how to worship unashamedly, and how to hold onto God even in the depths of grief. The legacy that she leaves behind will never cease. Her fingerprints will be on the lives of her children and all the generations that come after. Though she has left this world for the next, her prayers will never die. We have the promise of tomorrow through Jesus and will see her again.

Visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055, and 11am-12pm Friday, August 14 at Christian Life Center, 665 Linnville RD. Heath, Ohio 43055. A 12pm funeral service will take place at Christian Life Center following visitation. A graveside service at Wilson Cemetery will take place immediately after the funeral service, Pastor Michael Ensey officiating."
