Faye C. Shama, 83 of Newark passed away on April 27, 2024 at her residence. She was born on June 24, 1940 in Fallsburg, Ky to the late Alva and Dove (Castle) Curnutte.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Craig McGinnis) Adams, David (Connie) Hoppenstand and Davida (Shawn) Frick; grandchildren, Jennifer (DJ) Carducci, John Hoppenstand, Turner Hoppenstand and Kaitlyn Hoppenstand; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David F. Shama; son, Gregory Hoppenstand; grandson, Nicholas Adams; brothers, Robert (Alice) Curnutte, David (Mary) Curnutte and Charles (Alice) Curnutte; and sisters, Virginia (Elon) Daniels, Ruth (Tom) Watson and Mae Back.

No services will be held at this time. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Louisa, KY at a later date.
