Francis William Reilly, Jr. 73, of Johnstown, Ohio, passed away on January 28, 2025. Frank was born on June 18, 1951 in Maple Shade, New Jersey to Francis (Bud) and Lela (Daringer) Reilly. Frank grew up in New Jersey and later moved with his family to Fresno, Ohio when he was twelve years old. He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1969. It was during his high school years that he met Melinda Ann Porteus and they were high school sweethearts. Frank and Melinda both attended Ohio University together earning degrees in education. They were married on August 11, 1973. Frank was employed as a high school math teacher at Licking Valley for 30 years, where he also coached wrestling and football for over twenty years. Frank then coached his sons in football at Johnstown High School for five years.

Frank loved classic rock-n-roll music (especially The Who), hockey (Columbus Blue Jackets season ticket holder since their inaugural season), Notre Dame sports, riding motorcycles, and most importantly his family and close friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lela; and his brother Shawn Reilly.

Frank is survived by his his wife of over 50 years Melinda; his sisters Linda (Allen) Collins, Theresa (Kendall) Ott; his children Patrick (Emily) Reilly, Michael (Erin) Reilly; his treasured grandchildren Liam and Darby Reilly; numerous nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. A funeral service will follow at 4pm. A family service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Fresno at a later date.
