Frederick R. Allen, age 87, of Newark, passed away on December 29, 2023. Frederick was born on March 25, 1936, to the late Walter C. and Rosela (Norris) Allen, in New Lexington.

He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting when he was younger but as he got older, he enjoyed feeding the animals instead. Frederick was a trap shooter at Owens Corning gun club. He was a Metallurgist and retired from Owens Corning after many years of service. Frederick was an avid gardener. Anyone who knew him knew he was a big jokester, and never met a stranger. He followed the local sports teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Bettina L. (Grigsby) Allen; children, Sharon (Mark) Lust of Newark, Terry Allen, Mike (Christina) Allen of Newark; stepchildren, Mark D. (Rowan) George Jr., Marisa R. Grigsby; grandchildren, Lindsey Allen, Tyler Allen, Nicole (Mike) Black, Christopher Allen, Katie (Patrick) Hofer, Sara Allen, Madie Allen, Brandi (Jamey) Fauque, Jennifer (Mitchell) Kemper, Robert Lust, and Alex McCoy; 13 great grandchildren; nieces, Kaelynne (Nate) Morgan, Lynette (Keith Wellsprings) Newlon; He will be deeply missed by his Cohort In Crime Bella.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Allen and Ruth (Holcomb) Allen.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4:30 - 6:30 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where his service will be held immediately following with Pastor Don Allen, officiating.
