George "Chris" Williams

A funeral service for George "Chris" Williams, 75, of Heath, OH, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dave Mason officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Chris passed away May 9, 2024, at his residence.  He was born May 5, 1949, in Zanesville, OH, to the late Raymond and Mary (Scott) Williams.

Chris was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam. He retired from Newark Electric Sales. He was an international umpire and referee for United States table tennis. He was an avid golfer and reader.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Braden) Williams; children, April Williams, and Matthew Williams; brother, Scott Williams; grandchildren, Sierra, Bella (Kaleb) Miller, Jacob, Christopher, and Rilee; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Athena, Violet, and Theadora, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joan McFarlane.
