A funeral service for Geraldine B. Harrison, 84, of Newark will be held at 11am on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11am prior to the service.

Geri passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024 at the Inn at Chapel Grove, with family by her side. She was born on January 4, 1940 in Newark, OH to the late Eugene Francis and Laura Elizabeth (Glancy) Schimpf.

Geri enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing euchre, traveling, gardening and canning. She loved country and gospel music and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Raymond L. Davis, Martin J. (Michelle) Davis, Edwin D. (Terri) Keaton and Tamara (Joe Wright) Dunlap; former son-in-law, Dick (Teresa) Dunlap, Jr., step-daughters, Denise (Steve) Barthelmas and Cheryl A. (Will) Kern; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie "Jack" Wayne Harrison; brothers, Ralph, William, Walter, Earl, Robert and Russell Schimpf; sisters, Betty Arter, Mary Stover, Kathryn Rutter and Alice Schimpf; and grandson, Brandon Swartz.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chapel Grove for their excellent care and compassion during her stay.
