Gilbert L. Wilson, 93 of Newark passed away on December 1, 2024 at his residence. He was born on October 21, 1931 in Newark, OH to the late Oliver Harold and Ruth (Wright) Wilson.

Gib retired from Rockwell/Meritor after 62 years as a forklift operator. He was a hard worker his whole life and enjoyed mowing grass.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews; and granddaughter, Mequila K. Archer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Arlene (Ridenour) Wilson; step-son, Floyd Leon Roe; brothers, Cecil M. Wilson, Orville D. Wilson, Donald O. Wilson and Duane A. Wilson; sisters, Laura B. Moran and Elaine B. Mohney; and dear friend, Dorothy Wright.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery.
