Glenn William Warrick

A funeral service for Glenn William Warrick, 92, of Newark, OH, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Carol Hall officiating. Family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 9:30 am. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Family will also receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2023, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Glenn entered eternal life on December 22, 2023, while residing at The Village of Westerville in Westerville, OH. He was born April 29, 1931, in Newark, OH, to the late Robert Oliver Warrick and Mary Elizabeth (Chambers) Warrick. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Caroline Mae (Fields) Warrick and precious son, Kelly Warrick.

Glenn was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. Glenn was a 1949 Newark High School graduate. He served eight years in the Ohio National Guard and was classified as both a rifle and carbine marksman. Glenn was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Glenn was a life-long member of Faith United Methodist Church and was active in the church including playing his steel guitar as a youngster, and later teaching Sunday School and serving as a trustee. Glenn was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his family and especially his grandson, Brett. Glenn loved antique cars and motorcycles.

Glenn started working when he was 11 years old (cutting grass for 10 cents an hour) and continued working to the age of 75. In 1952, Glenn began 37 years of employment at Kaiser Aluminum. With the development of the freeway through Newark, Glenn saw an opportunity and began buying houses in the path of the freeway, moving them to new locations and then rehabbing the properties. Glenn moved and rehabbed 5 houses. Glenn also owned other properties and was regarded as a landlord who was honest, fair and responsive. Glenn and his wife, Carole, were also licensed realtors and sold real estate for his father's real estate company, Warrick Realty. After retiring from Kaiser, Glenn began working part-time at the Heath Nursing Home. He also enjoyed playing Santa at the Heath Mall for several years. Glenn was kind, honest, and known for his beautiful, infectious smile. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Paul) Warrick-Schkolnik of Westerville, OH; son, Scott (Lisa) Warrick of Reynoldsburg, OH; grandchildren, Kalegh Warrick of Denver, Co; Brett (Elizabeth) Warrick of Powell, OH; Michael Warrick and Nicholas Warrick, of Reynoldsburg, OH; and Caroline Warrick-Schkolnik, of Rochester, NY; his older brother, Homer (Mildred) Warrick of Newark; and brothers-in-law, Robert Sheets of Frazeysburg and David (Vicki) Sheets of Newark. Glenn is also survived by his devoted friend, Shirley Sprinkle, who has been by his side for over 20 years. Glenn is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
