Harry R. Orr, Jr., 94 of Newark passed away on April 24, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 26, 1930 in Hopewell Township, Licking County, OH to the late Harry R. Orr, Sr. and Gladys Lees.

Harry retired from the Chessie System Railroad where he was a lifetime employee. He was a 70-year member of the Aerospace Masonic Lodge #800 and the Tehran Grotto #159. He was an avid euchre and poker player. He loved all sports and enjoyed bowling, playing softball and basketball and watching football and baseball.

He is survived by his son, Ron Orr; daughter, Sherri Orr; grandson, Casey Orr; brother, Orville (Audrey) Orr; nieces; great-nephews; special friends, Linda and Dave Elk, Cathy and Bob Graves, Skip and Denna Fullerton and Sherry Lemaster; and many other friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Joanne Orr; and his partner of 20 years, Mary Lou Debevoise.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. A Masonic Service will follow at 7pm. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Swan officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.
