Helen Jo Ann Lawrence

A memorial service for Helen Jo Ann Lawrence, 62, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Helen passed away March 29, 2024, at her residence. She was born April 29, 1961, in Newark, to the late Fredrick and Mary (Shaffer) Lawrence.

Helen was a 1979 graduate of Newark High School and received her master's degree in business administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene College.

Throughout Helen's life, she wore many titles: daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, award winning actress, photographer, wedding officiant, and mother. She loved life, the theater, renaissance festivals, Jeopardy, Mickey Mouse, animals, music (especially Elton John), and crossword puzzles. Not to mention she gave the BEST hugs.

Helen was a vivacious woman, known for her sense of humor, her infectious smile, intelligence, sharp wit, and her kind loving heart.

She is survived by her daughter, Tiffani Lawrence; siblings, Chuck (Jane) Lawrence, Tom Lawrence, Rob Lawrence, and Linda (Floyd) Allen; special brother, Terry (Karissa) Binkley; special sister, Brenda (Mark) Metelko, and nieces and nephews, Zack (Megan), Khristie, Danny, Katie, Bryson, Karalee (Tyler), Axl, and Nicole (Jake).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brendan Lawrence; sisters, Olita Lawrence and Cora Pfouts, and brother, Paul Lawrence.
