A funeral service for Helen Catherine (Lewis) Reed Norris, age 96, of Newark will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 12 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, from 10 AM – 12 PM, a burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Helen passed away on August 8, 2024, at the SharonBrooke Assisted Living. She was born on April 7, 1928, in Watertown, New York, to the late Ishmel and Ruby (Sawyer) Lewis. She moved to Newark in 1943 and got married in 1945. Helen started her wonderful family in 1950. She retired after 23 years as a labor and delivery technician for Licking Memorial Hospital. After retirement, she became a volunteer for the Hospital, and was a volunteer for 38 years. Mrs. Norris was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a choir singer since 2000.  She was a member of FOP retires, member of American Legion Post #85, TWIGS 24, member of the Fraternal order of Police, and a member of the Works. Helen enjoyed playing Bingo, drinking coffee, drawing, painting and shopping at Kroger. Helen loved stopping by the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home for some hot chocolate and coffee. She loved her family very much.

Helen is survived by her children, Ruby Adams, Rodney (Joyce) Reed, Robert "Bobby" (Martha) Reed, Ricky (Stacy) Reed, Rosemary (Charlie) Whitcraft; 24 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Norris; daughter, Debra Sue Reed; son, Roger Thomas; siblings, Herbert, John Carl, Howard and Paul; special friends, Bradshaw, Brutus, Angel, Prince Maui and Peppi; sister-in-law, Lori Power; first husband, Charles William Reed.
