Herman D. Stradley

A graveside service for Herman D. Stradley, 94, of Newark, will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Rocky Fork Cemetery, with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Herman went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2024. He was born September 21, 1929, in Eden Township, to the late Alonzo and Mildred (Houston) Stradley. Herman was a graduate of Utica High School. Following graduation, Herman worked for B & O Railroad. Herman was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. For many years, he owned/operated service stations for Pure Oil and later Union 76. Herman owned and operated Stradley's Used Cars for 35 years. Herman was a trusted friend to many who never knew a stranger. He was a kind person, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Herman was a member of the Rocky Fork Church of Christ and had a strong belief in the Lord. His faith in God showed in many ways.

Herman is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marie (Thompson) Stradley; son, Mike (Lynn) Stradley; daughter, Cindy (Terry) Davis, and granddaughter, Andrea (Rob) Jones, all of Newark. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Wilma Stradley; nephew, Rod (Judy) Stradley, and nieces, Kris (Tom) Williams, Cathy Kurzawa, and Annette (Jim) Kurzawa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Ronald Stradley, and stepsisters, Frances Ballinger and Shirley Nash.

Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. No calling hours will be observed.
