Homer M. Warrick, age 95, of Newark passed peacefully on January 29, 2024, in the early morning. Homer was born on October 1, 1928, to the late Robert O. and Mary E. (Chambers) Warrick, in Newark, Ohio.
He attended Newark City Schools. Homer worked for and retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 37 years with his younger brother Glenn. Homer attended Faith United Methodist Church where he ushered, and served as a trustee there. That is also where he met the love of his life Mildred Helser and that's where they got married in 1950. Homer proudly served in the National Guard for 8 years. Homer is now a member of the First Baptist Church and was a trustee and greeter there. After he and his wife retired they enjoyed traveling together and traveled all over the United States and Mexico. He loved to go to Early Birds for breakfast most days, and he never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mildred I. (Helser) Warrick; daughters, Connie Whitcraft, Marcia Warrick; grandchildren, Carrie (Chad) Whitcraft, Nathan Whitcraft, Hope (Tony) Marino; great grandchildren, Rebekkah "Randy" and Aedan Fitzgerald; by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Glenn Warrick; and son-in-law, Harry Whitcraft.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where his service will follow at 10:30 with Rev. Jim Addy officiating. Burial in Newark Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his name to the First Baptist Church, 1000 Granville Road, Newark, Ohio 43055.
