Irene Louise
Flowers
Feb 15, 1968 — Aug 17, 2025
Newark
Irene Louise Flowers , 57. passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at her home in Newark Ohio, with her best friend by her side.
She was born February 15, 1968, in Pataskala, the daughter of William M. and Edna (King) Flowers.
Irene was a graduate of Licking H.S. and later employed by Licco Inc. She was her mothers heart as they adored one another. Irene's mom would order Christmas presents for Irene and Irene amazed her mother by guessing exactly what was in the package. Irene and her sister were close in age and when Diane would go off to college Irene would insist she needed to shop for school supplies like Diane. Her dad encouraged her to participate in the West Licking Special Olympics. He liked to see her stay active and healthy. Irene won many medals and trophies participating in the softball throw and the fast walk. She gained so many special friends including Adam Hare and his mom Vicki Sussman, as well as Jason. Irene worked for Licco Inc for many years doing contract work and going to businesses with a group to work on site. Her favorite hobby was making jewelry. Irene gained many friends throughout the years as she never met a stranger. Irene loved singing and dancing to Katy Perry, Kenny Rogers, Michael Jackson (moonwalk) and so many more. She enjoyed participating in Gears and Company performances, cherished her friends at her day program and anything pertaining to traveling , shopping and eating out.
Preceding in death were her parents; sister, Diane (Romi Navarro) Flowers Navarro.
Irene is survived by her best friend, Vicki Wilkey; niece, Victoria Flowers Navarro; several cousins; including special cousin, Lynda Chronister.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4 - 7 pm, at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Her services will be held on Friday, at 11 am, burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Irene's guardian, Vicki Wilkey, for her years of unconditional love and care. We also can not say enough about the wonderful care and compassion Irene and the family received from Capital City Hospice. We would have been lost if not for Susan Wygle pitching in all the time making Irenes favorite foods and going the extra miles to care for her.
In lieu of Flowers please consider a donation to West Licking Special Olympics Donna Hulse 317 Meadow Way SW, Pataskala, Ohio 43062 or Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr #170, Columbus, OH 43231, in Irene's memory.
