Irvin "Smiley" J. Fry, age 69 of Newark, OH passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He was born in Mt. Vernon, OH on January 10, 1955 to the late Irwin L. and Ada (Taylor) Fry.

Smiley retired from Owens Corning after 41 years. He enjoyed woodworking, antique tractors and car shows.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Patti E. (Smith) Fry whom he married on September 11, 1976; brothers, William Fry, Robert Fry; sisters, Shirley Ramsey, Maxine Border, Kay Pickenpaugh, Joyce Dennison, Barb Ragon, Peggy Zahrndt and Ada Washburn; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Don, Jim and Luke; and sister, Martha McKee.

A celebration of life gathering for Smiley will be held at a later date where interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
