A funeral service for James C. Conrad, 75 of Newark will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Private burial will follow at Conrad Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday and from 4-7pm on Friday at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 7pm.

Jim passed away on August 17, 2024 at his residence. He was born on May 25, 1949 in Newark to the late Harold E. and G. Maxine (Forwood) Conrad.

Jim was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the New Home Lodge #338 Hanover, Licking County Shrine, Aladdin Shrine, Scottish Rite, Licking County Cattlemen, Licking County Farm Bureau, Ohio Cattlemen, Buckeye Hereford Association and the NRA. He was inducted into the Licking County Agriculture Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Virginia (Raines) Conrad; daughters, Melanie Roberts and Stacy (Mark) Appleton; grandchildren, Max (Kaitlyn) Appleton and Evan and Madalynn Roberts; brother-in-law, Wayne (Debbie) Raines; sister-in-law, Susie (John) Endicott; many nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend, Dave (Lou) Varner.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Keith and Florence Raines, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Keith Raines, Jr..
