James David "Dave" Mitchell, 58, of Newark, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was born October 4, 1966 in Columbus to Karen Tigner and the late Darel A. Mitchell.

In addition to his mother, Karen (Randolph) Tigner, he is survived by his wife, Cindy Mitchell of Newark; children, Jamie (Adam) Lawson of Dayton and Jesse (Sheridan) Mitchell of Pataskala; siblings, Darel L. Mitchell of Newark and Terina (Jeff) Carr of Newark; step siblings, Stephanie (Rick) Trager of Newark, Scott (Debbie) Lake of Newark, Shaun (Mandy) Lake of Atlanta, GA, Jason Tigner of Zanesville, Brian (Jaime) Tigner of Dresden, Darren (Kristy) Tigner of Zanesville and Trevor Tigner of Zanesville; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darel A. Mitchell.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dave to the Licking County Humane Society.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Roger Decker officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lutheran Cemetery.
