It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Alfred Peoples, who departed this world on June 27, 2026. Born on December 7, 1954, in Newark, Ohio, Jim, as he was affectionately known, lived a life filled with dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends. Jim was the cherished son of the late Alfred E. and K. Lucille Peoples, who instilled in him the values of kindness, perseverance, and integrity.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Al and Lucille, who welcomed him with open arms in the hereafter, and his nephew Robert W. Allen.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories with his surviving family members: his devoted sisters, Lucinda Allen and her husband Steven, and Brenda L. Gentry and her husband Timothy. He was a proud uncle to his nephew, Evan Gentry, and his wife Emily, and his great-nephew, Steven E. Allen. Jim's roots were deeply planted in his hometown of Newark, where he graduated from Newark Senior High School in 1973. Although he attended the Ohio State University Branch in Newark with a focus on Electrical Engineering, his path led him to the workforce, where he made significant contributions through his career. He began his professional journey at Sears and Roebuck, and then moved on to a lengthy and rewarding tenure at Sun TV, where he managed the store in Findlay, Ohio, for several years. His sense of duty and deep familial love brought him back to Newark, where he took on the noble role of caring for his mother. During this time, he worked for Harry and David before being called upon to lend his expertise to 1-800-FLOWERS. It was from this role that he eventually retired, taking with him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. Jim possessed an innate talent for computers, a passion that kept him engaged and inspired throughout his life. He was known far and wide for his ability to fix and maintain computers, always eager to lend a hand to anyone in need of his technical prowess. His interest in technology was not just a hobby but a testament to his inquisitive mind and generous spirit. Though his journey on this earth has come to an end, the impact of Jim's life will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His kindness, devotion, and gentle humor touched many lives, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished and remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor his life, where family and close friends will gather to celebrate the love, laughter, and memories he has left behind from 5pm-7pm Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jim's memory to a charity of your choice, as a way to continue his legacy of generosity and care. James Peoples will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before him, and forever watch over the loved ones he leaves behind.
