James D. Thomas

James D. Thomas, 67, of Newark, OH, passed away September 23, 2025, at his residence. He was born October 8, 1957, in Charleston, WV, to the late James H. and Loretta (Landis) Thomas.

Jim found immense joy in fishing and hunting. He had a true gift for telling stories and was a masterful storyteller. He was a minimalist who didn't require much to be fulfilled. All he needed to be happy was Bonnie and his dogs.

He is survived by his children, Laurietta Oakleaf, Josh Thomas, and Danea Thomas; sister, Judy Sheets, grandchildren, Makylah Thomas, Harmony Hill, Symphony Hill, and Jazzimine Hill; great-grandchildren, Dio Madden, Zeri Madden, Harmony Hill, Jonathan Blauser, and Octavius Andrews, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Thomas and brother-in-law, David Sheets.

In accordance with Jim's wishes there will be no public services.
