Janet Sue Hanes (Price), 71, passed away on October 20th, 2024, in Cañon City, Colorado after a battle with Dementia. Janet was born on December 27th, 1952, to the late Williard and Freda Price in Newark, Ohio and a graduate of Newark High School class of 1971.

Janet was a proud State Farm employee in the Newark Regional office for over 33 years. In 2014, Janet retired and spent her time RVing, traveling, quilting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Janet was known for her strong will and unwavering love and support for her family and friends.

Janet is survived by her husband of 46 years Harley (Joe) Hanes Jr of Florence, Colorado, sons Harley J. Hanes III of Joliet, Illinois, Brett Hanes of Cañon City, Colorado, Jason Guthrie of St. Louisville, Ohio, stepdaughter Christy Bruce of Anchorage, Alaska and sister Marilyn Goumas of Newark, Ohio. She loved and adored her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and especially her nine grandchildren (Darion, Michaela, Madison, Jaselyn, Ryleigh, Ethan, Cyprus, Bohdi & Briar Sue) and one great granddaughter (Ma'Leah). Janet was preceded in death by her granddaughter (Briar Sue).

Calling hours for family and friends will be held at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, Ohio on Monday, November 25th, 2024, from 5-7 pm. Private funeral services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery New Albany, Ohio Tuesday, November 26th, 2024.
