Janet R Penn

Janet R. Penn, age 93, of Newark, passed away on April 17, 2026, at Altercare South. Janet was born on March 26, 1933, in Dayton, Ohio to the late William A. Chambers and Ruth V. (Black) Musselman.

She was a devoted member of the Buckeye Lake Coast Guard Auxiliary, where she found purpose in service and camaraderie within her community. In her quiet moments, she expressed her creativity through quilting, crocheting, and cross-stitching—crafts that reflected her patience, care, and attention to detail. Her handmade pieces will remain cherished reminders of her warmth and love.

Janet is survived by her children, James E. (Marjie) Penn, Kathy Robbins; grandchildren, Denna (David) Day, Debra (Josh) Burgett, Christina (Christopher) Johnson, Gary A. Robbins, Ryan (Sue) Hall, Brian Miracle, Amy Mircale; 17 great-grandchildren; and twin sister, Jean Wagner.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, William Penn; daughter, Sharon L. Miracle; son-in-law, Haley Robbins; grandson, Jarrad Miracle; great-grandson, Silas Hall; brother-in-law, Charles Wagner; 3 siblings.

There will be no services held at this time, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
