Janice Ann Eichenauer, 87, of Newark, died Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. She was born January 9, 1938 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Arnold and Audrey (Marks) Schindler.

Janice was a proud graduate of Fresno High School, Class of 1955, where she was a cheerleader and majorette. She worked for many years at Buckeye Fabric in Coshocton. Janice found joy in tending to her garden, creating arts and crafts, and watching birds. She also loved bowling and was an active member of several bowling leagues.

She is survived by her son, Jim Hodge; grandson, Ross Hodge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Eichenauer; brothers, Rex, Tom and David; and sister, Patty.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Janice to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Hospice of Central Ohio.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5-7 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm.
