Jared James Eshelman, age 89, of Heath, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at Grant Medical Center. He was born in Newark on May 26, 1936, to the late John L. and Mary Olive (Hoskinson) Eshelman, Sr.
Affectionately known as Jerry to his friends and family, he dearly loved and cherished each and every one.  In his younger years, Jerry earned the distinguished title of Eagle Scout. Later in life he returned to school and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Armstrong State University.  In his leisure time Jerry enjoyed camping, boating and fishing with family and friends. He also cherished our big family vacations to the mountains and the beach. He and Carolyn loved attending Blue Grass Festivals with Don and Marilyn White and their friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carolyn (Link) Eshelman; children, Jeff (Sonya) Eshelman, Jodi (Jeff) Bell, and Jason (Vicki) Eshelman; grandchildren, Amber Eshelman, Anne (Ben) Hauck, Jacob (Mary Katherine) Bell, Faran (Lane) Evans, Faran Eshelman and Rhodes Eshelman; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, John L. Eshelman, Jr., Don  Eshelman, and Carl Eshelman; sisters-in-law, Marilyn White and Sherry Erhard; brother-in-law, Jim Link.
Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm Friday, January 9, 2026, with a 1pm funeral service. A graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville will take place immediately after the funeral service, Pastor John L. Eshelman III officiating.
