Jason William Melick,49, of Blacklick, died Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at his home. He was born October 2, 1974 in Newark to William and Cynthia (Heskett) Melick.

Jason graduated from Utica High School class of 1993. He then went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with a degree in finance. Jason worked for SS&C Technologies for years. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Reds and Ohio State fan. He loved watching and playing cornhole and other sports with his son, Alex.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years and known since he was 16, Lisa Melick; son, Alexander Melick; mother and father, Cynthia and Bill Melick of Winterhaven, FL; mother-in-law, Connie Kennon of Newark; sister, Brandie (Shanon) Woodward; nephews, Colton and Coen Woodward; niece, Emma Woodward; brother-in-law, Mark (Jennifer) Kennon; nephew, Carter; and niece, Kelsey Kennon.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruce and Helen Melick and Carol and Alva Heskett; Aunt Bunk; Uncle Brooke; and father-in-law, Donald Kennon.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating. The family has asked everyone who will be attending to wear Ohio State Buckeye gear and/or something comfortable.
