A funeral service for Jeffrey L. Henderson, 41, of Newark, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Peter Becker and Ralph Nethers officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Henderson, who was employed by Owens Corning Fiberglas, died Sept. 1, 2002, at his residence. He was born Dec. 18, 1960, in Lancaster.
Mr. Henderson graduated from Lakewood High School and Otterbein College. He was a member of the Newark Church of Christ and GMP 244, and had coached Lakewood Youth Girls Softball. He was also a fan of the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon R. (Smith) Henderson, whom he married on May 17, 1997; father, Mark L. Henderson of Newark; mother and stepfather, Vera C. (Gibson) and Phil Skidmore of Hebron; grandmothers, Ollie Gibson of Newark, and Audrey Henderson of Mount Perry; stepdaughter, Kiah M. Smith; brother, Bryan (Keila) Henderson of Thornville; sisters, Tonya J. Henderson of Newark, and Lorenda L. (Dan) Coakley of Newark; father and mother-in-law, William G. and Gerri Smith of Newark; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.
