Joann Carol Presley, 81, of Newark, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 25, 1944, in Lancaster, OH to the late Albert and Margaretta (Veverka) Sherman.

Joann was a devoted member of New Hope Lutheran Church. She had a joyful spirit and a lifelong love of dancing, sharing that passion while working at a local dance studio where she was affectionately known as "Grandma Joann" to so many. She also spent time as a teacher at Playmate, where her caring nature touched the lives of countless children. Joann enjoyed scrapbooking, preserving precious memories for her family to cherish. She and her husband loved traveling together, especially trips to the beach. She also delighted in visits to the zoo, always making sure to stop and see the giraffes. Above all, Joann loved her family deeply and was truly the heart and glue that held them together.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William Presley; her children, Frank (Terri) Presley, Brenda (Eddie) Guy, Barbie (Earl) Page, and Becky (Dan) Kirk; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Karan (Tom) Tenschert; brother-in-law, Bernard (Donna) Presley; and sister-in-law, Maggie Presley.

In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her beloved pets.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joann's memory to Hospice of Central Ohio and/or the Licking County Aging Program.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Mark Hartsough officiating.
