Jodie Lyn Waters, 55, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 22, 1969, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Jack and Virginia (Cramer) Jones.

Jodie found joy in life's simple pleasures, particularly her love for coloring and indulging in sweets. However, her greatest happiness came from cherishing moments with her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply.

Jodie had a passion for watching historical dramas and had a profound connection with nature, finding solace and peace in the beauty of the earth.

She will be remembered fondly for her love of family, her nurturing spirit, and her ability to find joy in the simplest of moments. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue for generations to come.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dave Waters; children, Dev (Josh) Waters, Katie (Morgan) Waters and Samantha Waters; and grandchildren, Sophie, Jazmin and Izaiah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jon Luk Waters.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Lutheran Cemetery.
