Obituary

John DiBlasio, 92, of Newark, died Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born August 29, 1933 in Newark to the late Charles and Anna (Gualtieri) DiBlasio.

John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Beach Jumper during the Korean War. He was a devoted member of IBEW Local 1105 for more than 60 years and worked as an electrician for over 30 years before retiring. John found his greatest joy in watching his grandchildren excel in dance, baseball, football, and volleyball. He was a talented ice skater, a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in his backyard. He also took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and keeping his lawn meticulously cared for.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patti; children, Kathi (Rick) Martin, Karen (Chris Termini) DiBlasio, Traci (Diane Jones) DiBlasio and John (Anne) DiBlasio; grandchildren, Rachael Termini, John DiBlasio, Joshua DiBlasio and Catie DiBlasio; sister, Angela Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Anthony “Tony” DiBlasio.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 12-1 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Deacon Patrick Wilson officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery where military honors will be presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
