John “Donny” D. Baker, 89, of Heath, died Friday, September 11, 2026 at Altercare Newark North. He was born June 6, 1937 in Newark to the late John and Mary (Messina) Baker.

Donny proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years, including service during the Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course and sharing his love of the game with others. Donny was also a member of several organizations throughout his life, including the Eagles, VFW, Moose, Druids, and American Legion.

He is survived by his companion of 47 years, Delores J. Bennett; stepson, Timothy L. Baker; siblings, Grace M. King, Delores J. (Bob) Chalfant, Viola SImpson, Joseph Baker, William (Donita) Baker and Rosalee Lawson; and his four-legged companions, Jake and Peaches.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, George and James Baker; and sisters, Barbara Bowen, Clydeena Baker, Diane Rogers and Forena Smith.

No funeral services will be held.
