John Chester Harden, age 87, of Newark, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. He was born in Wheeling, WV on August 22, 1936, to the late Michael A. and Helen (Capps) Harden.

John was owner of Old Time Country Crafts.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bette (Wilson) Harden; children, John M. (Lynn) Harden, April (Randy) Barns, and Misty (Todd) Seagren; step-daughters, Darlene (Jim) Steward and Sheri (Mike) Stiger; sister, Helen Och; 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; good friends, Bob (Linda) Toothman, Valerie Fouts and Dan Weddington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Capps and brother-in-law, Billy Capps; half brother, Mike Harden.

A 1:00 PM graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Nevada Cemetery, 10938 OH-231 Nevada, Ohio 44849, Pastor Shyanne Manson officiating.
