John Alan Kosik

John Alan Kosik, age 77, passed away on December 31, 2025, at SharonBrooke Assisted Living in Newark. John was born on February 23, 1948, in North Ridgeville, OH, to the late Frank and Wilma (Sheak) Kosik.

John graduated from Avon High School in 1966. In 1967 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served during the Vietnam era. Upon returning John earned his Associate Degree from COTC and later a Bachelor of Science degree from Franklin University.

John made his career as an electrical engineer at Owens Corning Fiberglas and later at Rolls-Royce in Mount Vernon. John had his pilot's license and always enjoyed flying.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cindy (Gonser) Kosik; stepdaughter, Annie (Matt) Shankle; brothers, Tom Kosik of Newark and Steve Kosik of Colorado; sisters, Sue Sennhenn of South Carolina and Nancy Striegl of Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jimmy.

A very heartfelt thank you to all the care givers and wonderful staff at SharonBrooke who have taken care of John for the past several years.
