John David
Nincehelser
Apr 14, 1938 — Jul 21, 2024
Newark
John David Nincehelser, 86, of Newark, died Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Laurels of Heath. He was born April 14, 1938 in Columbus to the late Edgar and Hazel (Jones) Nincehelser.
John was a veteran of the Marines serving from 1955- 1959. He was a member of the Church of Ascension. He enjoyed woodworking and having meals daily with his friends at Tee-Jays. John had a big heart and would give the shirt off of his back for anybody. He believed he'd had a great life and always wanted to make others around him feel the same joy. Regardless if it was John showing everyone the secret handshake or the pencil trick, he strived to make those around him laugh. John's favorite role to play was poppy, best known by his grandchildren. Poppy had endless wisdom, jokes, and stories from his past time to give. His playful, and sometimes stubborn, spirit is something that will live within the hearts of his family forever.
He is survived by his children, Jamie Kay Baum, Jodie Lee Goble, and John Edgar Nincehelser; grandchildren, Kevin (Misty) Baum, Eric (Kaci) Baum, Jessica Nincehelser, Glen Goble, Zachary Green, Zoey Green, and Shelby Nincehelser; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; and daughter, Jennie Green.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John to American Heart Association or American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 and/ or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
