Johnnie E. Decker, age 69, of Newark, passed away on October 19, 2025, at home surrounded by his family after a short struggle with cancer. He was born on July 24, 1956, to the late Gene and Ella Mae Decker.

John retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass in Newark, Ohio. He loved a good card game and never missed a football weekend, always cheering on the Buckeyes and the Browns.

He is survived by his brother, Tony Decker; sisters, Lynn Corsi, Kim Decker, and Rhonda House; nephews, Travis Corsi, Jesse Decker, and Marty Gene Decker; niece, Angel House; and great-nephew, Josh Corsi.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marty Decker.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Travis for all of his help, love, and support during this time. They would also like to thank Hospice for their care and compassion.

Visitation will take place from 1-2 pm Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A memorial service with military honors presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance will take place at 2 pm, with the LCVA Military Chaplain officiating.
