Joshua Thomas Cook, 24, of Newark, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025. He was born August 27, 2001.

Josh was a loving and fun person to be around. He always made you smile or laugh in some way. He loved his bucket hats and brand name clothes. He took pride in how he looked. Josh loved to be silly and had a big heart. He loved animals and his family. Josh was a great son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to all who knew him. He will be truly missed by all.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Shelly Ann Hale; father, Jeffery Lynn Cook; stepfather, Travis Edward Hale; brother, Justin (Madison) Cook; stepbrother, Jesse (Beth) Hale; two step sisters, Amanda Stewart and Alicia Hale; grandparents, Kathy (Harry) Mix, Glenn T. (Barb) Mix; Richard Cook and Carol Whickline; Aunts, Kristy (Laddell) Tankersley, JoAnn Thompson and Angela Whickline; uncles, Glenn T. (Kerry) Mix II, Daniel (Rachel) Mix; numerous nieces, nephews, great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends. Josh had two life long friends, Blake Spell and Chase Hupp.

Joshua is preceded in death by great grandparents, Shirley and Frank Fisk, Ann (Richard) Warner, Peggy Cook and Steve Whickline; cousin, Shandi Fisk; great uncles, Robert "Bobby" Fisk and Denver "Curtis" West.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 from 12-1 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. A graveside service will follow visitation at Wilson Cemetery with Pastor Brandon Moore officiating. The family has asked that all in attendance to wear red and black in honor of Josh's favorite colors.
