Obituary

Joy E. Spargrove, age 88, of Licking County, passed away on September 6, 2024. Joy was born on December 8, 1935, to the late Walter and Mary (Biddle) Moody, in Zanesville.

Joy gained entrance into her eternal home leaving behind a legacy of friendship, hard-work, and agape-love. Joy was a remarkable Christian, whose presence ushered in light and gave hope to many through decades of service within Marne Church

She was a leader for the Licking County 4 H Club, a charter member of the Fallsburg Homemakers and a Piller of the foundation of Marne Church where she restarted the Easter Egg Project after the Church burned to help raise money for the rebuilding. She also took on the Peanut Brittle project where all the money raised went to help others. The most significate aspect of these events was the gathering of church members and community friends all helping with the preparation and the marketing while sharing fellowship-food-fun festivities.

Her legacy of kindness, hard-work and contributions to Country, Church and other Entities shall continue inspire those fortunate enough to share in her earthly pilgrimage. As a result, many who knew and loved JOY will Miss her and no doubt many enthralled by her smiles and power of speech shall Cherish her memory.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Marilyn) Spargrove and Jacqueline Spargrove; grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica) Spargrove, Sean (Alex) Spargrove, Myndi Pettry; great grandchild, Isabella Spargrove.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Sparky"

For now, it is Good-Bye Joy Spargrove, especially because we believe in Him who said: I Am the Resurrection and the Life. Rest Peacefully till we meet again, Safe in the Arms of Jesus.

In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to Marne Church 1019 Licking Valley Road NE Newark, OH 43055
