Joyce Ann (Freppel) Merillat, 83 of St. Louisville passed away on May 7, 2024 at the Selma Markowitz Center in Newark. She was born on September 20, 1940 in Wauseon, OH to the late John and Josephine (Snyder) Freppel.

Joyce was a loving wife and mother. She attended the First Baptist Church of Heath and helped with the food pantry and Meals Made with Love. She worked as a telephone operator in Mt. Vernon and Sally's Beauty in Heath. She loved to be around people and have fun. She enjoyed singing, traveling especially to Gatlinburg and riding on motorcycles.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Duane Merillat; daughter, Bonnie Jo (Tony) Buhl; sister-in-law, Vicki (Gerald) Gear; brother-in-law, Terry (Pat) Merillat; nephew, David (Amneris) Merillat; and niece, Stacie (Trent) Hauke.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, V.J. Merillat.

The family will receive friends from 10:30am-12:00pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Funeral service will follow at 12:00pm with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
