Obituary

Juanita Alice (Brown) Green, born on August 28, 1930, in Frazeysburg, Ohio, to the late Webster and Esther Lenor (Anderson) Brown, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 95.

Juanita's life could be beautifully summarized by Matthew 25:23:

"Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your master."

Juanita grew up in the Utica, Frazeysburg, and Hanover areas of central Ohio. After the early death of her mother, she left school at just 13 years old to care for her younger siblings — a testament to her extraordinary sense of responsibility, devotion, and strength.

On September 4, 1954, Juanita married Ray Allen Green of Granville, Ohio. Together they raised two children: Jeanne Lenor Lentz (David) of Frazeysburg, Ohio, and Michael Allen Green (Elizabeth) of Inman, South Carolina. In addition, Juanita loved and helped raise two foster daughters, Ashley Wastler (Casey) and Carmelita Barboza (Garrett), welcoming them into her family with care and devotion.

Juanita was a devoted housewife and mother while supporting her husband in his ministry. She and Ray pastored the Bible Faith Tabernacle in Hanover, Ohio, from July 1976 until July 2013, touching countless lives through their faith and service. She was known for her warm hospitality, excellent housekeeping, and her ability to prepare a wonderful home-cooked meal. Everyone cherished her fried chicken, sweet tea, and potato salad — always served with love and care.

In the last ten years of her life, Juanita and Ray had the opportunity to move to South Carolina, where they lived with their daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, and son, Michael Green, who cared for and loved them deeply. Ray passed shortly after the move in 2015, leaving Elizabeth and Michael to focus on Juanita's health and care. Juanita's daughter, Jeanne, and son-in-law, David Lentz, visited her frequently, and together they surrounded her with love and comfort until the very end.

Juanita and Ray were blessed with grandchildren: Eric Green (Kim), Brian Green (Nicole), Jennifer Rathburn (Chris), Jessica Knight, Joshua Lentz (April), Shelly Jackson (Jason), and Jeremiah Lentz. They were further blessed with many great-grandchildren: Gabriel Lentz, Aiden Lentz, Abigail Jackson, Josiah Jackson, Grace Jackson, James Jackson, Khole Green, Kendall Green, Sofia Green, Levi Green, Faith Green, Brody Rathburn, Maddox Rathburn, Cody Knight, Cooper Knight, Case Knight, Alexandria Pavkov, Ava Pavkov, Aurora Wastler, Ivan Wastler, Gideon Wastler, Aynslee Wastler, Adelynn Holland, and Raelynn Holland.

Juanita was one of seven children born to Webster and Esther Brown and cherished her siblings deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Webster and Esther, and step-mother, Mary Muluck Brown, and her brothers and sisters: Eugene Brown (Ruth), Mildred Brown, Mary Mick (John), Irene Wilson (Sebert), and Dwight Brown (Sharron). She is survived by her youngest brother, Daniel Brown (Nancy), along with her children, foster daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Juanita's life was defined by love, generosity, faith, and quiet resilience. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her unwavering care, devotion to family, and lifelong commitment to her Christian faith and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
