June Marie Baker

02/25/1927-12/26/2023

June Marie (Parsons) Baker went to be with her Lord on December 26, 2023, at the age of 96. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence, The Inn at Chapel Grove, Heath, OH. June was born near St. Louisville, Ohio, on February 25, 1927, to Leroy (Roy) Benton Parsons and Mamie Frances (Drumm) Parsons. She was married on September 26, 1954, to William Earl Baker, at the St. Louisville United Methodist Church, St. Louisville, Ohio.

June graduated from Utica High School, Utica, Ohio, in 1945, and worked at Stewart and Alward store in Newark, Ohio, as a bookkeeper. After her wedding, she traveled and lived in many states and two foreign countries with her husband, Earl, from 1954-1962, when he worked for The M. W. Kellogg construction company. After 1962 they returned to their native Licking County (Ohio) and worked together with Earl's brother, Robert and his wife, Esther (Lees), to open and run their own business, Baker Steam Cleaning. June and Esther assisted with the business by being receptionists and bookkeepers for many years.

June was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and was actively involved in the St. Louisville United Methodist Church (UMC), the UMC church choir, and the UMC Women's Society, in addition to the Eden Church of Christ. She loved to sing church music with her brother and sister, Warren and Pauline, as they made beautiful harmony together. She was well-known for her love of shopping and also her generous gifts of baked goods. She enjoyed sewing and attending sewing and craft classes. At Christmastime she prepared many fruit baskets for shut-ins on behalf of the UMC. She enjoyed traveling and visited Switzerland, Austria, Egypt, and the Holy Land after retirement.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Lisha Baker of Buckeye Lake, Ohio; her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Tracy Jamison of Cincinnati, Ohio; her granddaughter, Charity (Roubin) Timothée; her great-granddaughter, Gloria Noelle Timothée; her brother, Warren D. Parsons; her sister, Pauline E. Cliver; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, and many in-laws and extended family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, Newark, OH. Visitation will begin at 1 pm, Friday, December 29, at the St. Louisville UMC. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery near Purity, Ohio.
