Justin Michael Gottschalk, age 34, of Newark, passed away on February 8, 2024. Justin was born on January 5, 1990, to Michael and Roanne (Abbuhl) Gottschalk in Akron, Ohio.

He graduated from Granville High School in 2008. He attended The Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College, where he studied Culinary Arts.

He was always authentically himself, full of passion, and had the biggest heart. Justin loved the game of golf. He grew up playing golf at Moundbuilders Country Club, which was still one of his favorite courses. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved wearing all of his jerseys. Justin's real passion was creating incredible meals, reinventing recipes, and providing a one of a kind dining experience for his customers. He was the Executive Chef at Hereinafter Cocktail Tavern, where the menu reflected his love of fine dining cuisine. His other hobbies included playing chess, frisbee golf, and drawing.

Justin is survived by his parents, Michael and Roanne Gottschalk; sisters, Ashley (fiancé Michael Lewis) Gottschalk, Grace Gottschalk; grandmother, Lottie Abbuhl; grandmother, Shirley Gottschalk; ex-wife, Kayleigh Scott; fur babies Henry and Dali.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Abbuhl; grandfather, Henry Gottschalk; uncle, Jeff Gottschalk.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4 - 6 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. His funeral service will follow at 6 PM with Pastor Tom Pound officiating.
