Kathryn (Kitty) Ann Hindman, 89 of Newark passed away on August 9, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 14, 1935 in Newark, OH to the late Edgar Harvey and Edith Marie (Hatfield) Gress.

Kitty was a longtime member of Plymouth United Church. She was active in the church playing the organ, piano and singing in the choir. She enjoyed her house plants and her dogs. She was a 40 year employee of Newark City Schools.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Hugh Gordon Hindman; daughters, Beth Ann King and Brenda Sue (Greg) Smith; son, Dr. Steven John Hindman; grandchildren, Adam (Vanessa) Himes, Kaitlyn (Craig) Ulland, Tristan (Chelsea) Himes, Jennifer (Andy) Bain, Kevin (Cora) Smith and Jonathan Smith; great-grandchildren, Tatum and Charlie Himes, Oliver Ulland, Hudson Himes, William and Brayden Bain, Liliana and Warren Smith and a great-granddaughter on the way; brother-in-law, Craig (Phyllis) Hindman; and nieces and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stillborn brother.

The family will receive friends from 3-5pm on Sunday, August 17, 2025 and one hour prior to the service on Monday at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Gus Andrews officiating. Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
