Kathy Denise Chase, 64, of Newark, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center. She was born July 13, 1960 in Columbus to the late Glen and Roberta (Hays) Johns.

Kathy worked as an optician for nearly 38 years. She recently was working as a school bus aide for Newark City Schools. She enjoyed camping, boating, and riding motorcycles with her husband. Kathy could talk to anyone and never met a stranger. She was always the life of the party. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Anthony "Scott" Chase; son, Anthony "Scott" Chase II; grandchildren, Brandon Russell Chase and Ella Nichole Chase; and brother, Keith David (Michelle Tuozzo) Johns.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Johns.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 from 5-7 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm.
