Keith "Bob" Robert Walrath, Jr., age 79, of Newark, passed away at his home Friday, January 30, 2026. He was born in Newark on March 9, 1946, to the late Keith Robert and June Elizabeth (Hard) Walrath, Sr.

Bob proudly served in Vietnam as a member of the United States Army and was involved with his local Vietnam Veterans group. He retired from Owens Corning Science and Technology Center Granville as a facilities leader after 51 years.  He served his community in many different capacities, including several years as a volunteer fire fighter in multiple townships, as well as being the Assistant Chief of the Heath Fire Department in Licking County.  He was also a member of the Ohio Cattlemen's Association, the Ohio Simmental Association, the Ohio Farm Bureau, and was a 4-H advisor.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Pat (Tavener) Walrath; children, Kelly (Brad) Sowards, Robb (Michelle) Walrath, Brandon Walrath, and Kate (Zack) Campbell; grandchildren, Chase Geller, Westin Walrath, Teagan Walrath, Colt Campbell, and Walker Campbell; sister, Beth (Frank) Findura; one niece; one nephew; and two great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Geller.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, and 1-2 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A 2 p.m. funeral service with military honors presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance will take place immediately following visitation on Thursday, Pastor Chad Penhorwood officiating. A private graveside service will take place as weather permits.
