Kelly Ryan Heikkila, 69, of Newark, died Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Embassy of Newark. He was born September 6, 1955 in Cloquet, MN to the late Arnold and Barbara (Crider) Heikkila.

Kelly was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at an early age. He lived his life as a valiant cystic fibrosis warrior and never let his diagnosis stop him from living his life the way he wanted to live it. He became a police officer and served in law enforcement for 22 years. He loved Jesus and often leaned on his faith to help him through tough situations. Kelly was giving and would often go out of his way to help others. He enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, watching sports especially hockey and cheering for the Minnesota Wild. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a laugh that will be missed by all who had the pleasure of hearing it. Kelly will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Judy; step children, Gregory Luman II and Madison Luman; grandchildren, Julia and Scarlet; siblings, Tony (Jan) Heikkila, Julie (Marty) Mundell and Troy Heikkila; nieces and nephews, Carolyn, Cory, Sheena, Erin and Justin; and his beloved pet companions, Bayleigh and Baxter.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kelly to the Central Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6649 N. High Street #106, Worthington, OH 43085 and/or Hospice of Central Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark with Pastor Brad Kittle officiating.
