Larry passed away May 11, 2024, at his residence.  He was born July 23, 1943, in Newark, OH, to the late Harold Atlee Arnold and Anita Helen (Hollister) Arnold. He graduated from Licking Valley High School in 1961, then Columbus State, Park College and finally Capital University College of Law in 1979. He was admitted to the practice of Law in 1979 and licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Ohio and the United States Supreme Court. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army and 13 ½ years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, where he attained the rank of Sergeant in the Investigative Unit. He attended college at night and returned to Newark upon graduation from law school. During his legal career, in addition to his many years of private practice of law, he served as an assistant Licking County Prosecutor, a magistrate for the Licking County Probate and Juvenile Court and as an acting judge in the Licking County Municipal Court.  He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He was a licensed private pilot, a former member of Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 402 and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilot's Association. He was a former member of the Licking County Bar Association and a member of the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Valinda (Hann) Arnold; son Larry II (fiancé Lindy); daughter, Sheila (Randy) Arnold Machacek; son, Robert; stepson, Eric S. Fox; grandchildren, Justin Arnold, Ashley (Derrick) Schneider, Steven (Holly) Emde, Joshua (Kelly) Emde, Mitchell Arnold, Avery Arnold, Greta Arnold, and Camryn Fox, and 3 great-grandchildren.

"When you write your own obituary you can express sentiments held near and dear. I met Valinda on May 8, 1987, and we were married two months later on July 25, 1987 – till death do us part. Thank you Valinda for sharing your life, your love and laughter all the days we were blessed with on this beautiful earth. I have been truly blessed. For me, Valinda is best described in a line from John Milton's poem "Paradise Lost". "Grace was in all her steps, Heaven in her eye, in every gesture dignity and Love." I can think of no better description."

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey; former wife, Peggy (Weaver), and ex-wife, Sheryl Diamond Arnold.

The family suggests memorial gifts to The Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville, OH.
