Larry Ashcraft, age 86, of Newark, passed away on August 21, 2026. Larry was born on April 5, 1940, in Newark, to the late Glenn A. and Mary Cathern (Chase) Ashcraft.
He was a proud second generation owner of Ashcraft Machine and Supply Company, Inc., a third-generation family business, where he continued his family’s tradition of hard work and dedication. He was deeply involved in his community, holding several offices with the Newark Jaycees and serving as a trustee and member of Newark Elks Lodge #391. He was also a member of the Newark Lions Club, Newark Masonic Lodge #97, and the Licking County Shrine Club. An avid golfer and car enthusiast, he enjoyed pursuing his interests and sharing those passions with others. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and treasured the many memories they made together.
He is survived by his children, Lori (Alan) Spinnenweber, Michael (Julie) Ashcraft and Kara (Tom) Carson; grandchildren, Annie, Ryan, Logan (Keionna), Chloe, Janey and Nolan; great grandchildren, Everett and Bennett; brother, Jerry (Betty) Ashcraft; sister, June Stickle; many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kay Ashcraft; sister Janis Clark; brothers-in-law, O.J. Clark, Howard Stickle; sister-in-law, Joan Seel.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August, 26, 2026, from 4 - 7 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. His service will be on Thursday, August 27, at 12 pm with Rev. Dr. John Minihan officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
