Larry Eugene Douglas

A funeral service for Larry Eugene Douglas, 72, of Newark, OH, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Larry passed away March 9, 2026, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born November 10, 1953, in Cambridge, OH, to the late Jack and Wilma (Frank) Douglas.

Larry was a 1972 graduate of Newark High School and later retired from AEP. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially watching football, spending time with friends, and working in his yard. Larry also loved trips to the beach, where he could relax and enjoy the ocean. Above all, he cherished his family and valued every moment spent with them. Known for his warm spirit and kind heart, Larry always had a smile on his face that brightened the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Luanne K. (Layman) Douglas; children, Nate and Dannah Douglas; brother, Steve (Lana) Douglas; grandchildren, Kareana, Hunter, Cole, Dylan, and Kale Hayes, and Brock Mullins; great-granddaughter, Kali Kay Snelling, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Joshua Hayes, and sisters, Harriet Slifko and Lynnann Swick.
