Leon Eugene "Geno" Freeman, age 84, of Newark, passed away on November 30, 2024. Leon was born on December 14, 1939, to the late Lewis Virgil and Hazel N. (Waguh) Freeman in Gallipolis, Ohio.

Geno has left behind a host of golfing buddies from the Willow Run Golf Course and the Trout Club. In addition, his morning coffee group at the former Colonial Tavern. Geno retired after 30 years from AT&T / Western Electric.

He is survived by his children, Barry (Mary) Freeman, Kelly Elizabeth (Mike) Kapust, Juanita (Kerry) Drake; grandchildren, Jacob, Justin (Rebecca), Mindy (Earl), Tressa (Marty), Kayla (Mark); great grandchildren, Allie, Ronnie, Juliana, Aubree, Destiny, Landon, Keaton, Gabby, Daniel, Luke; sister, Carol; niece and nephew, Lydia and Laird III.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia; brother-in-law, Laird II.

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11:30 - 12:30 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where his service will immediately follow at 12:30 Pm with Jeff Hawkins Outreach Pastor and Jody German Director of Pastoral Care at the Rise Christian Church. We will meet at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at 2:30 PM for the burial.
